8th GRADE IN JEREZ: CARRARO BEST ITALIAN IN THE MOTO3 CLASS

Double top ten marked LevelUp MTA Racing in Jerez de la Frontera, with Nicola Carraro as the best Italian in the Moto3 class. Starting from the tenth position on the grid, the rookie fielded by Alessandro Tonucci’s team found himself in a tussle due to back positions but, thanks to the peremptory response, he recovered time, ground and positions on the leading group. With elbows wide and head held high, the number 10 attacked his rivals, overtaking them, defending the eighth final place worth 8 points in the riders’ ranking. The general classification sees Stefano Nepa in ninth place, the same position obtained in the Spanish Grand Prix. The Panther, which qualified eleventh, gained two positions compared to the starting grid, flying as the first Italian representative of the world championship summary.

Alessandro Tonucci, Team Manager:

“I’m really happy with the weekend completed by Carraro, author of a beautiful race here in Jerez. Nicola is in his first year in our team, but already capable of clear and concrete growth in the difficult Moto3 class: being the first Italian to the finish line is a satisfactory result for today, promising for the future. I expected something more from Nepa, who is not very aggressive when attacked by opponents. I know Stefano has the ability to stay at the front, so we will work together to ensure they explode to their full potential. I thank the whole team, for a cohesive team that is very good at confirming that it is the reference structure for this hard-fought 2024 world championship. The work done in Spain was magnificent.”

#10 Nicola Carraro, P8: “I really liked this race, despite having to face it from behind following a start in which contacts and counters were wasted. I managed to recover ground and positions, until I reached the valid top five group. With more braking efficiency, a fifth place would have been mine, but I’m still happy with the performance and the result.”

#82 Stefano Nepa P9: “Tough race today in Jerez. I struggled in the first laps, getting stuck at the back. The pace then expressed was also good but, by now, the pre-established target of the podium was blurred and unattainable. The objective inherent in the next trips is to qualify as best and as far ahead as possible, in order to attack the top positions while avoiding slowdowns and dangers in the ferocious battle of Moto3.”
