GOOD FEELINGS AT ASSEN: LEVELUP MTA IN Q2 WITH NEPA

Very good sensations and excellent work. This is how the Dutch Friday of the LevelUp MTA can be described, immediately in Q2 of the Moto3 class. It is Stefano Nepa who brings the KTM to fourteenth place in the Practice round, valid for the first skimming of the weekend. Time 1’41″126 for number 82, satisfied with the driving displayed among the selective curbs of Van Drenthe and candidate for a great result on Sunday.

Assen is absolute and yet another novelty for Nicola Carraro, debutant at the University of Two Wheels. For him, a prudent start and need for advance reconnaissance, then attack at the pace of the day. Finishing twentieth, ahead of decidedly more experienced opponents, enhances the already interesting time of 1’41″707 even more.

Alessandro Tonucci, Team Manager: “I promote this day, in which Nepa went really strong, confirming how much he likes the Dutch circuit. Stefano was fast both in the morning and in the afternoon, even if he could have done more with the new tires. We will have to study a strategy capable of placing him among the top five of tomorrow’s qualifying, our fixed goal for the weekend and the position held in the first free practice session. Carraro once again finds himself on a track yet to be discovered, which is why he started quietly. In the afternoon session Nicola made interesting steps forward, and I am convinced that on Saturday he will propose further improvements. We will do everything we can to help him on one of the most difficult and selective tracks.”

#82 Stefano Nepa, P14: “Good start here in Assen, with a good session completed in the morning. I was constantly in the top five or six in the standings, and I was also happy with the sensations I felt riding the KTM. Weather conditions changed in the afternoon, but we were still strong. I am referring to myself and the team, together in the good work shared so far. We can do more, taking advantage of the soft tyres: this step will be sought tomorrow, subject to plenty of time to ensure we stay in Q2.”

#10 Nicola Carraro, P20: “Today I rode for the first time in my career at Assen, finding a track that I really like. The first free practice session served to adapt to the trajectories and characteristics of the Van Drenthe, while in the afternoon I set a good time, despite an annoying wind blowing. The goal on Saturday is to make a big leap forward, we will try with conviction.”
