ABOUT US
LEVELUP Motorsport and MTA Italia have come together in 2024 to form LEVELUP MTA, a Moto3 World Championship team with a solid foundation built through years of experience in the JuniorGP Championship. Since 2017, the team has been a key reference in the JuniorGP, consistently demonstrating the potential in developing competitive riders. Throughout its journey, MTA Italia has played a crucial role in shaping the careers of several talented riders including Marco Bezzecchi, Ivan Ortolá, Joel Kelso, Matteo Bertelle and Xabi Zurutuza. The team’s breakthrough came in 2021, when Ivan Ortolá secured the second place in the JuniorGP Championship. This remarkable result paved the way for the team’s debut in the Moto3 World Championship the following season.
An impressive 2023 season where they claimed two victories, four front-row starts and nine top-five finishes, ultimately earning fifth place in the team standing.
The strategic partnership formed in 2024 with LEVELUP Motorsport represents a turning point for the team. Beyond its mission of developing emerging talents, the team is also positioning itself as a business platform for Italian companies. By leveraging the international visibility and global reach provided by the World Championship, brands can elevate their presence and expand into new markets.

OUR PILOTS | 2025 Season Wold Championship Moto3

Matteo Bertelle #18

Matteo Bertelle was born in Monselice, Veneto, in 2004 and started racing motorcycles at just 4 and a half years old. At the age of 8, he participated in his first Italian minimoto championships, and by 13, he claimed the title in the CIV Pre-Moto3. The following year, he finished fifth in the European Talent Cup, already showcasing great talent.
In 2019, he debuted in the JuniorGP Moto3 World Championship while simultaneously competing in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, where he continued in 2020. He further distinguished himself in 2021, finishing second in CIV Moto3 and eighth in the Rookies Cup, even securing a victory at the Sachsenring.
His entry into the MotoGP World Championship came in 2021 with a wildcard at Misano, where he finished 18th. The following year, he became a full-time Moto3 rider with the QJ Motor Avintia Esponsorama team, under the VR46 umbrella. After a promising start to the season, an injury forced him to sit out the rest of the year.
In 2023, he returned to racing with the Rivacold Snipers Team, achieving notable results such as seventh-place finishes in Thailand and Qatar, ending the season in 18th place overall. In 2024, he continued his development, finishing the championship in 16th position.
For 2025, he is ready for a new challenge with the LEVELUP MTA team, aiming to establish himself among the key players in Moto3.

Joel Kelso #66

Australian rider Joel Kelso, born in 2003, started racing at just two years old, inspired by his older sister. After making a name for himself in motocross and dirt track, he switched to road racing at the age of nine, immediately showcasing his talent. In 2017, he won the Australian Moto3 championship, pushing beyond national borders to take on new challenges.Â
His European journey began in 2018 with CIV PreMoto3, where he secured two podiums and set the lap record at Vallelunga. The following year, he continued in CIV Moto3, further establishing himself among international young talents. In 2020, he entered the Junior Moto3™ World Championship, where in 2021, he claimed three victories and a pole position, finishing fourth overall. That same year, he made his Moto3™ World Championship debut with the CIP Green Power team, competing in four races at Sachsenring, Assen, Portimao, and Valencia. His performances convinced the French team to bet on him for the following season.
In 2022, Kelso became a full-time Moto3™ rider, making a mark with an eighth-place finish in his home race at Phillip Island. However, 2023 was a challenging season—an ankle injury slowed his progress, but he still managed to secure his first podium at the Australian GP. In 2024, racing for BOE Motorsports, he continued climbing the MotoGP ranks, finishing the season in the top 10 with multiple top-five placements and a pole position in Thailand. In 2025, he faces a new challenge with the LEVELUP MTA team, aiming to establish himself among the top contenders in the category.
