Great race for Stefano Nepa at Silverstone, the English track on which the LevelUp-MTA completed the tenth round of the season. The Panther’s KTM competes for victory from the start to the last lap, and is the protagonist of spectacular maneuvers, appreciated by the competent public and repeatedly caught on television. The number 82, starting from the seventh spot, immediately set a pace in the very top positions, fighting head-on for a podium that was narrowly missed in the exciting final of the race. Just 397 thousandths took away the possibility of victory from Alessandro Tonucci’s team, which was competitive throughout the weekend and once again had The Panther that the whole paddock knows. The fifth place from the podium, just a few meters away, instills confidence for the rest of the season, in which to make up for what has been missed so far. Ranking moved again also by Nicola Carraro, fifteenth at the finish line and in a tough fight in the middle of the group. For the vintage rookie, the satisfaction of having taken a point and the certainty that the path set can lead higher.
Alessandro Tonucci, Team Manager: “Great race from Stefano, really fit and effective here at Silverstone. Nepa deserved the podium, the team too: the work done together produced a KTM that was really good in every sector of the track, excellently prepared by the mechanics and magnificently exploited by our rider. Just touching the podium makes me happy and saddened, obviously because a trophy would have been deserved, but we are returning to the positions with which we distinguished ourselves in the world championship. Carraro also did well, fifteenth and with pace from more advanced positions. Nicola lost time at the beginning, but then made up for what he lost. Congratulations to the whole team, who I ask to maintain the aggressiveness and method exhibited in Great Britain.”
#82 Stefano Nepa, P5: “The weekend that the team and I wanted, that is, three days at the top of Moto3. The race was beautiful, I had fun, we played for the big result until the last lap. A small inaccuracy took away my chance of winning, but thanks to a big recovery I got closer to third place. We came close to the podium, demonstrating very high competitiveness. I thank everyone, knowing that we can do even more.”
#10 Nicola Carraro, P15: “Some initial slowdown, due to other people’s falls, which I however remedied from lap to lap. I had lost the twelfth position group, but I felt good on a bike that worked at its best. Struggling, I finished fifteenth, taking a good point for me and the team. We’re going to Austria taking advantage of the experience, with the aim of having a better race than this British trip.”
