Stefano Nepa in 1’47″635, Nicola Carraro with 1’47″675. Both LevulUp-MTA marked KTMs won entry to Saturday’s Q2, thanks to the guidance of the riders and the work of the technicians in the garage led by Alessandro Tonucci. Ninth position for The Panther, tenth for Nico10: in addition to being fast, the two Italians set up a shared working method with the garage, then profitably placed between the curbs of the Barcelona track.
Alessandro Tonucci, Team Manager: “This first day at the Catalunya Circuit was very positive, with our riders in the provisional Q2 of the Moto3 class. Getting ninth and tenth fastest times satisfies me, also because the references set by the rivals are really close to ours. The team’s work was good, the laps completed both on the free track and in the group were excellent. A promising Saturday morning looks ahead, with the precise objective of remaining among the best of the lot, and then competing in a top Sunday Grand Prix.”
#82 Stefano Nepa P9: “The confidence established with the bike was wonderful, especially in an afternoon in which the work with the team was fruitful and excellent. Now we have to continue like this and even better, fixing the KTM for perfect use of the new tires. The objective on Saturday is another good time, remaining in the lead of Moto3.”
#10 Nicola Carraro P10: “Hard tires used in the morning, with excellent sensations while driving. Tenth place finish in the afternoon, despite a harmless crash. The team worked very well, I want to take further steps forward on Saturday, attacking the track and my opponents even more.”
