Stefano Nepa is the fastest of the two KTMs fielded by the LevelUp MTA team, eleventh in the Moto3 class in the qualifying sessions completed at Montmelò. The number 82 stopped the clock in 1’47″564, promising brawl in a race in which to take as many points as possible. Same objective set by Nicola Carraro, in difficulty after the fall recorded on Friday, however intent on recovering position after position on Sunday, in the attack conduct and without assorted calculations. Starting twenty-fifth will not quench his desire for a good result.Â
Alessandro Tonucci, Team Manager: “Nepa’s qualifying was good, Carraro’s result was less good. Despite suffering a bit when using the hard tyres, Stefano is on the fourth row, so not bad in view of tomorrow’s race. Nicola had performed better on Friday, but the crash he suffered then forced him to Q1. With both our riders we can collect more in the race, this is what we will try to do on Sunday, putting in all the effort available.”Â
#82 Stefano Nepa P11: “Morning session with improved times and confidence in the saddle, qualification completed according to my standard standards. I struggled a bit with new tyres, but the outcome was a good qualifying Saturday, which we will use to contest a fun and profitable Grand Prix. I’m regaining speed and pleasant sensations on the bike, qualities to put to good use tomorrow.”
#10 Nicola Carraro P25: “Following yesterday’s crash, things got complicated. The good feeling I felt on the bike was affected by Friday’s mistake, so I will soon have to regain the confidence and speed shown on Friday morning. I hope to do it already in the Sunday race, because I will do everything but give up.”
